Hyundai refreshed its popular midsize sedan for New York, and you can watch its debut live on the Interwebs.

What’s going on?
The Hyundai Sonata is about due for an update. Introduced in 2014, the seventh generation Sonata reached the young age of three years old. That said, it’s unsurprising that a revised model will debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. Especially since a facelifted Sonata debuted in Korea’s domestic market a few months ago.
What’s new about the Hyundai Sonata?
Details are not yet available. But we imagine the Sonata’s refresh will include redesigned aesthetic bits and packaging rearrangement. To help us visualize, Hyundai released some photo teasers. From that, we can see tidbits of a new front-end and grille design, one that seems to echo Hyundai’s other updated models, like the recent Elantra GT.

The Hyundai Sonata is the company’s venerable midsize sedan, competing against the likes of the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and so-on. It’s avaialble with a base 2.4L naturally-aspirated inline-four, a more powerful 2.0L turbo four, and a 1.6L turbo four-based hybrid and plug-in variant.
The updated Hyundai Sonata is due for a a reveal at the Jacob Javits Center on Wednesday, April 12 at 1:15 PM EST.
